Ubicándose cuarto en el escalafón, el pilar de educación básica y media es el más destacado para el departamento en este informe realizado por el Consejo Privado de Competitividad y la Universidad del Rosario
Ibagué, 19 de junio de 2024 Los resultados obtenidos logran consolidar al Tolima como uno de los territorios con mejor desempeño en esta área tan crucial para el desarrollo y prosperidad de la región. Obteniendo un puntaje total en educación básica y media de 7,83 ubicándolo en la cuarta posición en todo el país.
Desde el Consejo Privado de Competitividad aseguran que el departamento ha presentado buenos resultados en educación básica y media, esto causado principalmente por la ampliación en las coberturas desde preescolar, educación primaria y en educación secundaria.
El Tolima muestra un notable avance en cobertura en educación con un puntaje de 8,41 ocupando la posición tres entre 33 entidades territoriales evaluadas.
Esto significa que un mayor número de niños, niñas, jóvenes y adolescentes se encuentran matriculados y asisten regularmente a sus Instituciones Educativas.
Otro de los ítems evaluados fue la calidad en educación, obteniendo 7,24 y quedando en el puesto número 12.
Si bien este indicador no tuvo una calificación tan alta como la de cobertura educativa, desde la Gobernación del Tolima, y especialmente desde la Secretaría de Educación Departamental, se tienen dispuestos distintos planes encaminados al mejoramiento de este, como lo es la estrategia “SaberloTodo” que busca optimizar los resultados en las pruebas Saber 11, con un plan piloto en los municipios que han tenido las calificaciones más bajas en los últimos años.
De igual manera, es importante destacar que a partir del concurso docente que fue realizado en años anteriores, se ha logrado el ingreso de maestros mucho más cualificados. Así también se refleja en el informe con un puntaje de 7, 74 para este ítem, quedando en el puesto número siete.
Patricia Pinzón, Secretaria de Educación del Tolima, comenta que “Conocemos nuestras falencias y por esto hemos enfocado nuestros esfuerzos en capacitar a nuestros docentes, brindar acompañamiento y herramientas necesarias para mejorar. Sin duda, estos resultados nos motivan a seguir innovando y buscando nuevas maneras de mejorar la educación en nuestro departamento”
Ahora bien, los resultados del Índice de Competitividad 2024 son un incentivo para redoblar los esfuerzos y garantizar que todos los niños y jóvenes del Tolima tengan acceso a una educación de excelencia.
